How Via 313 Brought Detroit to Texas

Via 313 started with a simple craving — authentic Detroit-style pizza that brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt remembered from their childhood in the Motor City. Unable to find it in Austin, they did what any passionate pizza lovers would do: they made it themselves.

What began as a humble trailer operation in 2011 quickly became a phenomenon. The via313 name — a nod to Detroit's iconic area code — captures the spirit of the city that inspired every crispy-edged, sauce-topped, cheese-laced square slice we serve.

2011

The Trailer That Started It All

Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt launched Via 313 from a food trailer on South Lamar in Austin, TX. The Detroit-style pizza was an instant hit with long lines forming within the first week.

2013

Second Trailer & Growing Fanbase

Demand grew so rapidly that Via 313 launched a second trailer location. Austin food critics took notice, naming it one of the best new food concepts in the city for that year.

2016

First Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant

Via 313 opened its first permanent restaurant in Austin, bringing the trailer spirit into a full sit-down environment. The success confirmed that the brand was ready to grow.

2018

Texas Expansion Begins

Via 313 expanded beyond Austin into Houston and Dallas. The brand's reputation for authentic via 313 pizza spread across Texas, earning national food media coverage.

2020

Resilience & Community Support

During challenging times, Via 313 pivoted quickly to curbside and delivery, continuing to serve communities and supporting local food banks with thousands of donated meals.

Franchise Program Launched

National Recognition & 10+ Locations
